CLUB — Streator Leading Ladies

Pam Riss, president of Streator Leading Ladies, presided over the Feb. 21 meeting at Chippers Grill.

Final plans for the annual trivia night on Friday, March 15, were discussed and finalized. Proceeds from the trivia night will be used for the local scholarship program. The trivia contest will be at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 806 Oakley Ave., Streator. Teams will be five to 10 players at a cost of $10 per person.

The program for the evening was Jerry Vandemark and Larry Burash, of the Streator Camera Club. Vandemark gave a brief history of the 60-year-old club. He described how members have a picture assignment they bring in and discuss at each meeting. Members may enter four contests each year. The Camera Club meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Monday of each month at Bruce Township Hall.

Burash then presented a slideshow of various photos taken by members of the club. The photos covered barns, birds, butterflies, local events, lighthouses, people and scenery.

The next regular meeting of the Leading Ladies will be at Chippers on Thursday, March 21. The February meeting was supervised by Jen Falk, Carolyn Erler and Kathy Watts.
