The Illinois Valley Community College Foundation will host a bake sale and raffle from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, in the cafeteria foyer to raise money for Giving Day III.
The event features a dozen items including take-and-bake cookies, a cupcake kit basket, gift cards for local restaurants and a “Mamma Mia!” basket (four tickets to IVCC’s performance with a DVD and soundtrack to the movie).
In addition, jars will be available for people to vote with coins or cash for the IVCC employee they would like to see “slimed” at Giving Day III. Tickets will be sold for the large raffle items:
u Two tickets to a performance of “Hamilton” in Chicago with parking pass (1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, matinee at the CIBC Theatre).
u Four White Sox tickets with parking pass sponsored by WCMY-AM (winner chooses from a list of available games).
Ottawa Center, 321 W. Main St., will also host a bake sale and raffle from
8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, and will sell tickets for the “Hamilton” and White Sox raffles.
Giving Day III is at noon Wednesday, April 3, in the gym.
“Students, employees, alumni, parents and the community are all welcome to celebrate and support IVCC students and everything that makes this college great,” said IVCC Foundation Alumni Coordinator Janice Corrigan.
The event will feature a Spirit Sprint Relay Challenge, a Slime Challenge, winners of the “Hamilton” and Sox tickets will be drawn, free popcorn, pizza and water.
