A Ladd man was arrested Monday on a charge of possessing a firearm he wasn't supposed to have.
Ladd police arrested Jerry R. Spoede on a Bureau County warrant for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon following an investigation by the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team (Tri-DENT), the Bureau County Sheriff's Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), according to a news release.
The investigation included a search warrant issued for a home on the 3400 block of Cleveland Street in Ladd on Sept. 27. During the search, investigators said they found 18 firearms as well as ammunition, magazines, gun parts and a firearm safe.
Tri-DENT and ATF agents worked with the Bureau County State's Attorney's Office for several months leading up to the issuance of an arrest warrant.
Spoede was taken to the Bureau County Jail, where he is being held on $50,000 bond.
