MARSEILLES AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY
Marseilles American Legion Auxiliary met at the Legion. President Nancy Seaborn opened the meeting. Jill Mooneyham led in prayer with a moment of silence for veterans. Vickie Finan reported on the new oven hood the Legion men will install. A donation towards the expense was approved. She also reported on District 13, Veterans of Foreign Wars Teachers Award. The winner was Sarah Griffin and second place was Betty Novotney. The bingo Christmas raffle basket did well, there will be a Valentine raffle basket. Veterans Administration visit will be Wednesday, Jan. 30, with a Welcome the New Year theme. Thank you cards were received from Aperian Care, Rivershores, for the Christmas gifts and donations to the veteran residents. Twelfth District President Melinda Davis also thanked the group for a donation to her special projects. Pauline Cashman offered to pack care boxes for veterans, she will be collecting nonperishable food items and playing cards. Marseilles United Methodist Church will have its ham dinner Saturday, March 23.
The next meeting will start with dinner at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, and meeting at 7 p.m. The auxiliary wants to send birthday cards, get well, thinking of you and other life event and celebration cards; call Mooneyham with birth dates and event news at 815-795-5088.
