LETTER: Thank god for President Donald Trump

To the Editor:

This newspaper has become a typical liberal rag full of idiot opinions. It is no longer the great newspaper it was under Mr. Lonny (Cain) when it was conservative but balanced. Why do you print articles from liberal professors in most issues from the University of Berkeley? In the weekend paper of Sept 29-30, you had three articles from Professor Robert Reich, professor of what? (Public Policy at the University of California)! He does not know one iota about what he writes about or his subjects or who he is betting on. He just slams President Trump, and all good ideas, guessing at what young people in general think. California ideas and thinking are not the ideas of La Salle County or the Midwest, thank God. You maybe should take note that La Salle County went for President Trump. You might also take note of all the great things he has accomplished while under a false investigation put together by the resist everything Democrats. I ask what would Democrats do without sexual and racist lies and Russia?

It is amazing what President Trump has done to put back optimism in everyone's future and that of our country, something we had lost almost entirely under Obama. It is now like it was back in the 50s, 60s and 70s. One could go out and find a job, work and get ahead. You could buy a farm, start a company, and get promotions and pay raises. Under Obama you had to look for unemployment checks and welfare! Of course this paper has supported the Democrats who have the full blame for the terrible situation in our state. But it is not THEIR fault. They just stopped a balanced budget, raised retirement wages to equal what a man or women made while working full time, continue to (bail) out Chicago, raise taxes on everything, and never cut any expenses. Has anyone ever told you guys that money does not grow on trees? Editor were you listening?

We have many mysteries in the world, unexplained as to who built them, what happened to them, lost continents, etc. but the greatest of all unexplained mysteries is how can one be a Democrat with their policies, the men and women they have elected, their actions to destroy Judge Kavanaugh, their seeming lifelong ambition to raise taxes and spend, spend, spend. I should make this email anonymous, I could get to testify before congress! Of course this paper would not publish it, as it is in their rules. The New York Times doesn't have that rule nor Senator Feinstein, D-California.

ROBERT D. JORNLIN, of Earlville

Editor's note: Robert Reich's column runs every Saturday as part of the syndicated package "American Voices." Only one Reich column ran in the weekend edition of Sept. 29-30.
