Ottawa

Khanji I. Fairley, 34, Chicago, was arrested Tuesday in the 4300 block of Veterans Drive on complaints of shoplifting and theft. He was taken to the county jail.

Shane A. Butzen, 39, homeless of Ottawa, was cited Tuesday in the 600 block of West Madison Street on a complaint he had drug paraphernalia. He was given a court date.

Streator

A report was received at 12:56 p.m. Tuesday a female pumped $20 worth of fuel at Circle K West, 1006 W. Main St., then drove off without paying.

La Salle County

Natalie Negray, 20, Streator, was cited at 2:47 a.m. Wednesday on Route 23, two miles north of Streator, on complaints she had marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was given a court date.

A vehicle driven by Brittany Fowler, 22, Sheridan, went out of control after Fowler fell asleep at about 8 p.m. Sunday at North 41st and East 27th roads in Mission Township. Her vehicle hit an embankment and rolled. Newark medics took her to Morris Hospital.

Fire Calls

Ottawa firefighters responded at 9:51 a.m. Tuesday to 1440 Columbus St. for a fire alarm, which turned out to have been accidental.

Ottawa firefighters responded at 12:32 p.m. Tuesday to 151 Jones St. for a report of possible carbon monoxide in a home. They found nothing.

At 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, Ottawa firefighters responded to 900 Paul St. for a fire alarm caused by burnt food.

Ottawa firefighters responded at 1:06 a.m. Wednesday to 801 E. Norris Drive for a fire in a pan on a stove.
