From the street, you'd also be surprised by the view from their back patios.
“The whole house is in the woods. And the lower level you can can see out, too, because it’s down a hill so it’s outside, too. It’s not underground,” Satterfield said.
The walkout ranch with an upper level deck and a lower level covered patio with wooded views has made for a great outdoor entertaining space over the years.
“It’s huge," Flo said. "We had lots of family — even bridal showers. When someone died we even had the dinner here after the funeral. We had a lot of business meetings, church meetings.”
The home is in a neighborhood, but you’d hardly know it by the view. When the Satterfields looked at the lot more than 40 years ago for their family of seven, the neighborhood was established, with their home one of the last ones built. The wooded area is what sold them on the neighborhood.
"We always put rocking chairs out there on the patio and tables," Flo said.
