A new food truck specializing in pies can be found in Ottawa.

“My Fried Pies/Mis Empanadas” began operating this month and sells gourmet fried pies with fresh ingredients.

The truck can be found from 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. every Saturday at Ottawa’s Farmer’s Market.

La Salle manufacturing company purchased
by Vikable

Vikable, through its U.S. subsidiary CME Wire & Cable, acquired American Bare Conductor assets, a wire and cable manufacturing company in La Salle.

The Illinois Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development (IVAC) assisted with the acquisition, according to a press release.

IVAC Executive Joni Hunt said the acquisition will bring growth to the company and create career opportunities.

“It was a pleasure working with their team and Vikable’s presence in the Illinois Valley will be a great asset,” Hunt said in a statement.
