Two local physicians have finalized affiliation agreements that merge their independent practices with Morris Hospital and Healthcare Centers.
Dr. John R. Bolden Jr., infectious disease, and Dr. Raja K. Saleem, family medicine, have both served on the Morris Hospital medical staff for more than 10 years. The partnerships allow the physicians more time to focus on patient care while Morris Hospital oversees the business management responsibilities associated with their practices, according to a news release from the hospital.
A board-certified family medicine physician, Saleem provides primary care for adult patients, including diagnosis and treatment of illness, preventive care, routine checkups, health risk assessments, immunizations, screening tests and personalized counseling on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He has a specific interest in preventive care, geriatrics, heart disease, diabetes and respiratory conditions.
“I believe the partnership is really going to help me take better care of patients,” Saleem said in a press release. “I will have more time to focus on patient care at the office without having to worry about the business side of running the practice.”
Saleem joined the Morris Hospital medical staff in 2007 and serves as a part-time hospitalist at Morris Hospital.
Saleem’s office location and phone number remain the same, 948 W. U.S. Route 6, Morris, 815-942-5474. The name of the practice has changed to Morris Healthcare Center of Morris Hospital.
Bolden has almost 20 years experience as an infectious disease physician. He specializes in conditions caused by pathogenic agents, such as bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites, which may or may not be contagious. He has specific interest in antibiotic resistance, skin and soft tissue infections, HIV infections, C. Diff and MRSA.
A member of the Morris Hospital medical staff since 2005, Bolden also serves as chairman of the infection control committee. In 2011, he was recognized as one of the top 25 African-American physicians in the Chicago area
in Black Health Magazine.
“At this time in my life, I want to focus more on medicine,” Bolden said in a press release. “By affiliating with Morris Hospital’s Healthcare Centers, I can devote more time to patient care and the treatment of patients.”
Bolden’s office address and phone number remain the same, 151 W. High St., Morris, 815-513-3074, but the practice name has changed to Morris Healthcare Center of Morris Hospital.
