Streator Minor League

Danchris Nursery 11, Feken Trucking 9

Kamdyn Darrow doubled for Danchris Nursery. Keegan Angelico had a single.

Cole Winterrowd had three hits for Feken Trucking.

Danchris Nursery 12, Hatzer and Sons 1

Talon Melvin tripled twice for Danchris Nursery. Bryce Heider, Kamdyn Darrow and Keegan Angelico all doubled. Darrow and Angelico combined to pitch the win.

Clay Christoff had a double for Hatzer and Sons. Noah Bieck and Colin Byers each had a single.

Travel Baseball

Ottawa Spartans 8, New Lenox Rebels 3

The Ottawa Spartans 13U squad improved to 9-4 on the season with the five-run victory. Winning pitcher Aidan Thompson allowed just one earned run and struck out five. Levi Sheehan (triple, RBI), Ethan Price (triple, RBI) and Payton Knoll (double) each had two hits, while Griffin Walker doubled.

Streator Legends finish second at Sandstone Series

The Streator Legends 12U squad won four straight games before falling in the championship contest of the Sandstone Series tournament last weekend at Woodside Sports Complex in Mauston, Wisconsin.

The Legends opened with a 8-0 win with winning Parker Phillis (3 IP, 2 K) combining with Adam Williamson on the hill. Brady Grabowski (double) and Riley Bacon each had two RBIs. Next was an 11-3 triumph over EMB Smolinski with Christian Benning fanning three in as many innings to earn the victory. Williamson (double) and Dane Osterdock each had two hits, while Benning doubled and Phillis and Cole Martin tripled.

The Legends then blanked the Marshalltown Diamond Cats 10-0 with Grabowski striking out six in three innings to get the win. Osterdock had two hits and Bacon knocked in two. Streator reached the title game with a 11-8 win over the Mahtomedi Zephyrs 11-8 with Phillis earning the win with six strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings of relief. Benning (home run), Logan Aukland and Bacon each had a pair of hits and RBIs.

In the championship game, the Legends fell to the Woodside Wranglers 10-2 with Phillis blasting a two-run home run.



Edge 23, Blaze 6

Kaley Schiltz homered and doubled to pace the Edge offense. Taryn Ruhland had a pair of hits as well. Lakyn Ruhland, Abbey Thumm, Abby Burlingame and Sara Duchon all added hits.

Zoe Donahue struck out 10 batters in five innings pitched.

Hornets 13, Storm 10

The Hornets defeated the Storm in a high-scoring affair.


Killer Bees 13, Mustangs 12

Reese Purcell doubled twice to lead the Killer Bees' offense.

Eagles 15, Magic 14

Aubrey Sullivan, Teagan Cole, Adelynn Russell and August Leiteritz all had multiple hits for the Eagles.

Halle Kruse hit a grand slam for the Magic.

Streator Instructional

Shelter Insurance 11, Bloomingtails 6

Kaleiaha Taylor, Lilianna Hill and Amyla Urbance each had three hits for Shelter, with Addison Drysdale, Payton Davis, Emmalynn Davis and Isabella Alderson posting two hits apiece. For Bloomingtails, Avery Gribbin, Alana Law and Madison Campbell collected three hits each, while Alexis Fialko, Jaelyn Moritz and Malea Zavada had two hits each.
