Reddick Library announces June slate

Reddick Library, 1010 Canal St., Ottawa, announces events:

• Friday, June 1: Fine Free First Friday. Bring back overdue materials and the library will waive fines. Fines will not be waived on hotspots.

• Friday, June 1, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.: Little Ninjas. Have fun while learning the basics of self-defense from experienced instructors from the Duque Institute of Martial Arts. For children ages 3 to 6.

• Monday, June 4: Summer Reading Program registration begins. Parents can register children and teens at the Youth Services Desk. No registration is required for adults. For more information, contact the library at 815-434-0509.

• Tuesday, June 5, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.: Age of Dinosaurs. Travel back to the land of dinosaurs at this story time of prehistoric proportions. This fun story time is for children ages 3 to 6 years old.

• Tuesday, June 5, 5 to 6 p.m.: Italian Language Group. This free group is open to all adults wanting to learn Italian.

• Tuesday, June 5, 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.: How Will You Get There? Children in kindergarten to third grade are invited to play games and make crafts based on modes of transportion.

• Wednesday, June 6, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.: Up, Up, and Away. What do you see when you look up? Children ages 6 months to 3 years are invited to this special story time about what lives above us.

• Wednesday, June 6, 5 to 6:30 p.m.: Gamers Group. Come for games, snacks and fun. Xbox, PlayStation 4 and board games galore. For teens in grades seven to 12.

• Thursday, June 7, 2 to 3 p.m.: That Tall Juggler Guy. Mike Vondruska will perform a high, upbeat, comedy-juggling-ball-spinning-unicycling show. As an added bonus, attendees will experience juggling firsthand. This special program is for all ages.

• Saturday, June 9, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., Loop Group. Learn to knit and crochet in a fun environment from knowledgeable people.
