Russell Kramer, 39, Lake Grove, N.Y., was arrested Saturday at Shell Oasis on complaints of DUI and improper lane usage. He was given a court date.

Raymond E. Elmore, 54, Ottawa, was arrested Saturday on Veterans Memorial Bridge on complaints of DUI, no insurance, driving while license suspended and improper lane usage. He was given a court date.

Michael C. Davis, 39, Marseilles, was arrested Sunday in the 1400 block of Dakota Drive on a complaint he resisted police. He posted bond.

David J. Brothwell, 63, homeless, was cited Friday at Allen Park on a complaint he is a sex offender who was loitering in the park. He was given a court date.


A report was received Sunday a door in the 1100 block of South Bloomington Street was damaged.

La Salle County

Pedro R. Vargas, 43, Aurora, was arrested at 2:31 a.m. Sunday on Route 71, just northeast of Ottawa, on complaints of DUI, improper lane usage and expired registration. He was taken to the county jail.

Fire Calls

Ottawa firefighters responded at 6:55 p.m. Friday to 1455 Ottawa Ave. for a report of a natural gas odor. They found the gas was coming from a dryer valve. Nicor was called.

Ottawa firefighters responded at 10:08 p.m. Friday to 748 Fort St. to investigate an odor. They found the odor was from a sewer.

Ottawa firefighters responded twice Saturday and once Sunday to 900 Paul St. for fire alarms. They found nothing each time.

Streator firefighters responded at 5:22 p.m. Sunday to 711 E. Bridge St. for a prohibited fire, which they put out.

Streator firefighters responded at 8:59 p.m. Sunday to 1401 N. Otter Creek St. for a natural gas leak. They turned off the gas and ventilated the home.

Streator firefighters responded at 12:56 a.m. Monday to 1101 E. Main St. for a carbon monoxide alarm. They found the detector malfunctioned.
