STREATOR — Norman J. Pouk, 76, of Streator, passed away Thursday, May 3, at his home.
Following cremation, visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church with Monsignor Philip Halfacre officiating. Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery with full military honors conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and VFW.
Winterrowd Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Norman was born Dec. 19, 1941, in Streator, to Andrew and Catherine (Dzurisin) Pouk.
Surviving are sons, Douglas (Emily) Pouk, of St. Louis, Mo., and David Pouk, of St. Peters, Mo.; four grandchildren; sister, Jeanette Kuerth, of Pontiac; brother, Ronald Pouk, of Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Frederick.
Norman attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in 1960. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and retired from the A&P Grocery and Regis Inventory.
Norman was a member of the Sandy Ford Sportsman's Club, where he enjoyed fishing and target shooting.
Memorials may be made in his name to St. Michael the Archangel Church or Streator VFW.
