OTTAWA — Mildred F. Rutherford, 96, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday, May 6, at Pleasant View.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at St. Francis of Assisi Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery.
Mildred was born June 9, 1921, in Ottawa, to William and Flora (Lang) Kobold. She married Charles R. Rutherford on July 8, 1941, at St. Columba Church; he passed away Feb. 4, 1993.
Mildred retired from The Daily Times newspaper in 1988. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, St. Francis Altar & Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and Women of the Moose.
She enjoyed traveling, knitting and crocheting. Mildred loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Rutherford, of Springfield, Mo.; her daughter-in-law, Carol Rutherford, of Grand Blanc, Mich.; four grandchildren, Kellie (Don) Sullivan, Brad (Kerrie) Rutherford, Scott (Becca) Rutherford and Whitney Rutherford; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Gary Rutherford; and her brother, Kenneth Kobold.
