Streator

Michael Rangel, 44, Streator, was cited Tuesday morning on complaints of driving while license revoked, leaving the scene of an accident and improper lane usage. Police said Rangel's vehicle hit a utility pole, with Rangel leaving the scene on foot. He was given a court date.

A report was received Monday morning that during the weekend someone used an object to damage a vehicle in the 1600 block of South Illinois Street.

Police are investigating a Monday report of a theft from the 1800 block of North Bloomington Street.

A report came in Monday a ceramic yard decoration was vandalized in the 1400 block of North Everett Street.

During April, police took 1,250 service calls, made 27 arrests and issued 57 citations, with 223 verbal warnings given.

Ottawa

Nicholas L. Stadler, 27, homeless, was cited Tuesday morning in the 400 block of State Street on complaints of trespass and disorderly conduct. He was given a court date.

William E. Hadley, 57, homeless, was cited Monday at Canal and Madison streets on a trespass complaint. He was given a court date.

La Salle County

Jeremy T. Poe, 36, Marseilles, was arrested at 8:35 p.m. Monday a few miles north of Marseilles on a complaint of driving while his commercial driver's license was suspended. He posted bond at the county jail.

Daniel Tonielli, 39, Ottawa, was arrested at 1:20 p.m. Monday at his home on a DeKalb County warrant for residential burglary. He was taken to the La Salle County Jail.

Fire Calls

Ottawa firefighters responded at 11:14 a.m. Monday to Shepherd Middle School, 701 E. McKinley Road, where there was a fire in a bathroom trash can.

Streator firefighters responded at 12:18 p.m. Monday to 1301 E. Elm St. for a smoke alarm set off by cooking.

Streator firefighters responded at 5:23 p.m. Monday to 1315 N. Wasson St. for a prohibited fire, which they put out.
