STREATOR — John M. Cole, 78, of Apache Junction, Ariz., formerly of Streator, died at 8:27 a.m. Feb. 22 at Ryans Home Hospice in Phoenix.
Services were Feb. 25 at Meridian Mobile Home Park in Apache Junction, where John lived with his wife, Jill Cole. Private family services will be in July in Streator.
John was born Jan. 21, 1940, to John and Mary (Hallam) Cole. He married Bev Krasnican on June 6, 1959; she is deceased. They had one daughter, Kathy (Al) Sienza; and two grandchildren, Kris and Kaylee, all of Oglesby.
John worked for Thatcher and Anchor glass company for 55 years.
John married Jill Ozretich-Halko on Feb. 19, 2012. They moved to Apache Junction in October 2016.
John loved family and friends. He was an amazing stepfather.
John came from a family of 18 siblings, whom he dearly loved and enjoyed spending time with. John loved life also, hiking the mountains and spending time with family and friends.
John is survived by sisters, Sami Jo (Ross) Frazier, of Nevada, Rose (Keith) Grant, of Florida, Phyllis (Gary) Durree, of Arizona, and Jane (Jack) Dubick and Millie (Ron) Murphy, of Illinois; brothers, Deven (Ronnie) Cole, of Texas, William (Karen) Cole, of Illinois, Craig (Diane) Cole, of Texas, Mark (Alex) Cole, of Illinois, Chuck (Linda) Cole, of Illinois, Randy (Kim) Cole, of Texas, and Ralph (Laurie) Cole, of Illinois; stepchildren, Jo Marie and Megan Halko, of Phoenix, and Josh Halko, Winchester, Ind.; and his wife, Jill, of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bev; parents, John and Mary Cole; and siblings, Jacki Munn, Carol Jean Cole and Mike, Stephen and Carson Cole.
He attended Streator grade schools and Woodland High School.
