STREATOR — Michael D. “Bubba” “Dumplin” Schubbe, 64, of Streator, passed away at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 26, near Utica.
Memorial visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at Hagi & Baker Funeral Home. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Rodney Kreier will officiate.
He was born Dec. 1, 1953, in Elgin, to Leonard Bernard and Lucille Melrose (Groth) Schubbe. He married the former Sara Lidecka on June 14, 1975, at Union Congregational Church in North Aurora. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2006.
He is survived by daughters, Heather (Aaron) Mosolf, of Fargo, N.D., Elizabeth (Matt) Nordstrom, of LeRoy, and Martha (Chris) Smetanko, of Leroy; two sons, Timothy Schubbe, of Streator, and Andrew (Eileen) Schubbe, of Streator; his parents, of Richmond, Ky.; 15 grandchildren; one brother, Roger (Jane) Schubbe, of Somonauk; a sister, Roxanne (Mike) Wolfe, of Richmond, Ky.; several nieces and nephews; and his father-in-law, Raymond Lidecka, of North Aurora.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
He graduated from Larkin High School in Elgin.
He retired from Haltermans Photography in Ottawa.
He belonged to the Barber Green Fishing & Hunting Club and was a former bowler.
He loved NASCAR, fishing and mostly his grandkids. He was a "Dukes of Hazzard" fan and liked eagles and wolves. He loved all Chicago sports teams except the White Sox.
He had a fascination of posting recipes on social media.
