A semitrailer carrying wine and liquor overturned across both lanes of Interstate 80 eastbound between Ottawa and Utica.
A black 2019 Peterbilt truck tractor with a semi-trailer operated by Kristopher Kader, 32, of West Jordan, Utah, was traveling eastbound in the area of mile post 88 at about 8:10 a.m. Friday when his vehicle crossed over the concrete shoulder of the interstate and entered the grass, south of the roadway, according to Illinois State Police. Kader overcorrected, causing the vehicle and its cargo load of liquor to overturn.
Police said Kader was not injured. He was cited on a complaint of improper lane usage.
