To the Editor:
I am wondering how much longer drivers will have to either drive over the numerous potholes on Ottawa’s streets, or try to avoid them by dangerously moving over into an adjacent lane. I realize it is too early to permanently repair the streets, but why can’t temporary patching be done, especially on streets like La Salle and Columbus? I have lived in Ottawa for over 30 years, and the streets I travel daily are in the worse shape ever. It will be a massive re-surfacing project some day to restore some of these streets. I personally would have liked to see the money spent on the bump outs and flower pots be used for the more needed street repairs. If Ottawa wants to attract more business and tourists, I am sure nice smooth streets would be a better attraction than the dangerous bump outs found on La Salle and Columbus streets.
