STREATOR — Robert Foster, 86, of Streator, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 24, at his home.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at Winterrowd Funeral Home with military honors conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and VFW. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery following cremation rites.
Bob was born Jan. 12, 1932, in Sandwich, to Robert M. and Evelyn (Hoffman) Foster. He married Doris Glowicki on April 28, 1962. She preceded him in death on Aug. 24, 2015.
Surviving are daughters, Michelle (Barry) Sullivan and Melanie (Todd) Cashmer; and daughter-in-law, Charlene Foster, all of Streator; six grandchildren, Dusti (Rance) Vaughan, B.J. (Tonya) Sullivan, Holly (Aaron Blakemore) Cashmer, Jessica Cashmer and Christa and Kurt Foster; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Ronald Foster; one brother; and two sisters.
Bob graduated from Streator High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Bob retired from Libbey-Owens and was a member of the Streator American Legion, Streator Eagles Club and Streator Moose Lodge. He enjoyed camping, fishing and his love for dachshunds.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
