First female CSI to give library talk

OTTAWA — Upcoming activities at Reddick Library, 1010 Canal St., 815-434-0509 and reddicklibrary.org, will include:

CSI Old School: Meet the first female CSI team member from the Illinois State Police and hear stories from her book at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 6. Copies of her book will be available for purchase.

Family Fun Playdate: The library will provide the toys for children to talk and play. For ages 6 months to 6 years, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 8.

Reading with Sara and Willow: Read stories to specially trained therapy dogs. All ages are welcome from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 8.

Italian Language Group: This free group open to all adults wanting to learn Italian meets from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 8.

Wednesday Evening Book Group: “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” by Shaffer and Barrows will be discussed at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 9.

Loop Group: Learn to knit and crochet in a fun environment from knowledgeable people. Anyone is welcome to drop in. There is no registration or fees. Materials are available for those wishing to try a new craft. The group meets from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12.
