A rural Ottawa man was sentenced Friday for battery.
Charles E. Blakley, 55, was charged in February with sexually assaulting a woman in April 2016 in Ottawa. At a court hearing Friday, that charge was dropped and Blakley pleaded guilty to aggravated battery. He was then sentenced to 30 months probation and to submit DNA to the state's bank of felons' DNA. Blakley must also undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation.
Blakley spent 21 days in jail after his arrest, before posting $7,500 cash to be released on bond.
