La Salle Public Library will host gardener, community activist and folksinger Anna Stange when she presents "La Salle Grows ... Heirloom Seeds at La Salle Library."
The program will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 1.
In this hands-on program, especially for adults, participants will prepare soil, plant an array of seeds to take home and learn about the proper way to transplant seedlings to grow a healthy harvest. Stange, a longtime pioneer of library seed gardens, will answer gardening questions, and will provide background for the “seed library movement” in public libraries.
