EARLVILLE — Albert "Larry" Storkman, 82, of Earlville, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018, at Mendota Lutheran Home in Mendota.
He was born Aug. 30, 1935, in Peru, the son of Dietrich Gustav and Zurita (Witzeman) Storkman. He married Dorothy Jean Wilk on Aug. 20, 1960, in Chicago, immediately following his discharge from the Army. Larry was a member of the Earlville Lion’s Club. He taught for many years in Earlville and became a guidance counselor after earning his master’s degree. Larry was one of the founders of the vocational center in Sandwich. He and Dorothy loved to travel the world, taking cruises to many locations. Larry was a wonderful, doting husband.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Earlville; four siblings, Audrey (Don) Burton, of Peru, Richard (Mary Ellen) Storkman, of La Salle, Barbara (Richard) Calhan, of Warsaw, Ind., and Robert (Carol) Storkman, of Peru; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings, Kenneth (Elaine) Storkman, June (Thomas) Hebel, Norma (Raymond) Cattani and Paula (Kenneth) Stringer.
Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville with Pastor Karen Karczewski officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of services at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
