CLUB - Sheridan American Legion


Commander Larry Ryg called to order the April 17 Sheridan American Legion meeting with the pledge and reading the Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion.

Ten members were in attendance: Ron Petersen, Rob Borchsenius, Ryg, Mike Mott, Rich Tuntland, Dennis May, Jack Wise, Howard Buckle, Randy Rosengren and Roger Knight.

The minutes and treasurer’s report were read and accepted.

Petersen reported the Color Guard will participate Saturday, May 12, at Serena High School graduation and at the Moving Wall at United Auto Workers Region 4 Pat Greathouse Center in Ottawa.

Ed Marshall volunteered to lead the 5K Run project Memorial Day. It will be named the Nina LeCuyer Memorial 5K.The funds from this race will be used to help Air Force veteran Dan Mason, a former Sheridan resident and friend. It will begin at 7:30 a.m. Monday, May 28, followed by breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Recognition of students will begin at 10:30 a.m. with flag and cemetery ceremonies following.

Wednesday, July 4, will be the Car Cruise, fliers are being circulated.

The club voted to send $25 to support the 12th District hospitality room for the 100th Department of Illinois convention in Springfield in July.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 15.
