The Streator Walldogs Committee has announced the mural locations for this summer's Murals and Milestones event.
The 16 murals will feature themes pertaining to Streator’s history as a celebration of the city's 150th anniversary. Mural designs will be released to the public Saturday, May 19, at City Park during the second annual Food Truck Festival. The festival runs from noon to 7 p.m. and will feature seven food trucks, vendors and music.
Mural subjects and locations include:
Sesquicentennial/coal mining: Anderson Financial, 302 East Main St.
Civil War/Howe: Streator Home’s Carriage House, 131 S. Monroe St.
DEW Line: Kuntz Insurance, 134 S. Bloomington St.
Edward Plumb: Majestic Theatre, Hickory Street side.
George “Honey Boy” Evans: Elks Lodge, 202 N. Park St.
Glass Capital of the World: Ramza Insurance, 125 S. Bloomington St.
Hopalong Cassidy: Standalone sign on 200 block of West Main Street.
Pluto: K’s Secret Garden, 215 E. Main St.
Railroads: 125 S. Park St., North side.
The Roamer: Dick’s Floor Covering, 101 E. áMain St.
Streator baseball: Chad Lucas State Farm, Hickory Street side.
Tattersall: Hombakers, 501 E. Main St.
Vin Fiz: Dick’s Flooring Warehouse, 101 E. Main St.
Williams Hardware: Former Williams Storage, 128 S. Sterling St.
World War II Canteen: Park Place, 406 E. Hickory St.
