IVCC plans to honor campaign donors

The Illinois Valley Community College Foundation will unveil a new display honoring donors to its 2015-17 Scholarship Campaign at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 30, near the main entrance of the Peter Miller Community Technology Center.

The event will feature remarks by college officials and students who have benefitted from the campaign. Light refreshments will be served.

Although the initial goal was $500,000, the campaign raised over $715,000 — exceeding the goal by 40 percent.
La Salle-Peru-Oglesby Junior College alumnus Ralph Scriba of Palos Verdes, Calif., donated $150,000 and the estate of fellow 1951 LPO graduate Dr. Mary Margaret Weeg contributed $100,000 of her $1.1 million bequest.

In all, more than 100 donors contributed. The display honors those giving $250 and up.

The public is invited but registration is encouraged by calling 815-224-0253.
