Doris J. Uratchko



STREATOR — Doris J. Uratchko, 88, of Streator, passed away at 9:39 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Heritage Health in Streator.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at Hagi & Baker Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael the Archangel Church. The Rev. Raymond Guthrie will officiate. Interment will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Nick Yanello, Lane Thompson, Wyatt Thompson, Brandon Thompson, Mitchell Uratchko and Zach Uratchko.

She was born Jan. 11, 1930, in Streator, to Russell and Edith (Brown) Robertson. She married Daniel Uratchko on May 20, 1950. He preceded her in death Oct. 9, 2009.

She is survived by a son, David R. (Carrie) Uratchko, of Streator; a daughter, Danielle R. (James) Thompson, of Streator; four grandchildren, Shannon (Matt Kerper) Thompson, of Streator, Brandon (Dustie) Thompson, of Ransom, Mitchell Uratchko, of Streator, and Zach Uratchko, of Streator; great-grandchildren, Nick Yanello, Lane Thompson, Wyatt Thompson and Riley Rose Uratchko; a brother-in-law, Elmer Osterdock, of Streator; and dear friends, Dean and Karen Bundy Sr., Dean Bundy Jr. and Norma Risley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Verna Osterdock; and a dear friend, Phyllis Chismarick.

She attended Streator High School and had worked for Unit District 5 at Wilson School, Prairie Farms in retail, Top Save and S.C.I. and DSI.

She was a former member of St. Stephens Church and now a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church and formerly volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
