The Morris Theatre Guild will present “Postmortem” beginning Friday, May 18.
The story begins when William Gillette, famous for playing Sherlock Holmes, invites the cast of his show to his castle where danger and mystery become an unexpected part of the experience.
Cast member Karianne Griffith is playing May, a young, aspiring actress. She is enjoying developing this new character and discovering how she fits into the story. Another cast member, Brian Stroup, plays Bobby Carlisle, an actor who sees himself as a bit of a lothario.
“I decided to audition because I have always been a big fan of Sherlock Holmes, and so is my daughter, Colleen, who is assistant stage manager,” Stroup said. They enjoy working together and learning more about the real actor famous for playing Holmes.
The suspense-mystery runs Friday, May 18, through Sunday, May 27, at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays at Morris Theatre Guild, 516 W. Illinois Ave. Tickets are available at morristheatreguild.org or by calling 815-942-1966.
