Illinois Valley Community College offers welding registration sessions from 6 to 8 p.m. today, as well as Wednesdays, May 2 and 9, in the welding lab, Building J West.
Program coordinator Paul Leadingham will present each session and help students select courses. Registration is required by calling 815-224-0439 or emailing email@example.com.
The welding program offers 34 classes leading to six certificates and two Associate in Applied Science degrees. Students may also receive American Welding Society (AWS) certification.
Classes are available in stick arc welding, GMAW (MIG) welding, GTAW (TIG) welding, and oxy acetylene welding in all positions including flat, vertical-up, vertical-down, horizontal and overhead and using all industry-standard materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, nonferrous alloys and pipe.
The IVCC welding lab is one of only four in Illinois designated as an American Welding Society Accredited Testing Facility (ATF).
