A three-year agreement with the Streator Elementary District was "overwhelmingly approved" by the teacher's union earlier this week, said its president.
The board will vote to finalize the deal during its regular meeting 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 17.
Details are being held by both sides until the agreement is finalized.
With $481,256 in new state funding, Superintendent Lisa Parker said the district is projecting a balanced budget. More stable finances were credited with getting a deal done after teachers declared an intent to strike, said Board President Michael Holcomb.
