Michael Cameron, 21, Streator, was cited at 2:14 a.m. Wednesday at Park and Cottage streets on complaints of reckless driving, no valid license, no insurance, improper operation of an all-terrain vehicle, driving the wrong way on a one-way road, driving without lights when required and obstructing police. He was given a court date.

According to a report Tuesday morning, a case of compact discs were stolen the previous night from an unlocked vehicle at Morrell and Vermillion streets.


Raymond J. Casas, 29, Ottawa, was cited Tuesday in the 900 block of West Superior Street on a complaint he was driving while his license was suspended. He was given a court date.

DeKalb County

Jose M. Corral, 42, Sandwich, was arrested at 9:22 p.m. Tuesday at Sheridan Road and Suzy Street in Sandwich on a Kendall County warrant for failing to appear in court for contempt of court. He was taken to the Kendall County Jail.

Fire Calls

Ottawa firefighters responded at 9:52 p.m. Tuesday to 401 E. Marquette, where a duplex resident said they heard the smoke detector alarming in their neighbor's home. Firefighters found the alarm was caused by burnt pizza.

Streator firefighters responded at 3:39 p.m. Tuesday to Parker Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 516 W. Frech St., for a fire alarm. They found a resident had pulled the alarm. There was no fire.

Streator firefighters responded at 7:11 p.m. Tuesday to 416 E. Main St., for a fire alongside a building. The fire damaged siding, before it was extinguished.
