WIDE AWAKE TIMBERLINE 4-H
The Wide Awake Timberline 4-H Club met April 8. The bake sale was a success; members will send a thank you note to Betty for donating cookies. New T-shirts are in and are $7. Sunday, April 15, is the last day to change or add projects for the fair; fair books should be available May 1, project plans are due in September. The club will attend Wildlife Prairie Park in Peoria on Saturday, May 19. Long Point Park 4-H Awareness Day is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 2. All members exhibiting animals at the fair must complete animal ethics online training.
Small animals will be live showing at the fair this year. Photography judging will be Thursday, clothing judging will be Wednesday, AG Olympics is Thursday, the horse show will be Thursday. Online entries for the fair opens May 1. There will be a new food stand at the fair. Starting this year, instead of receiving plaques or trophies for awards, members will receive something related to their project area. The Clover Bud workshop and zombie camp are coming soon. Saturday at the fair is craft and vendor show.
The next meeting will be Sunday, May 6, at the Long Point Legion starting at 4 p.m. for Clover Buds and regular meeting at 4:30 p.m. Talks were given by Hailey on beef cattle ring worm, Dafney and Temperence demonstrated how to make muddie buddies and Kaylee talked about her dog.
