Applicants are welcomed for La Salle County’s Zoning Board of Appeals.
Applications are due by Saturday, April 28, for the three available spots. The board is composed of seven members and two alternative members.
By state law, all members must be residents of different townships at the time of their appointments. Townships already represented on the board are Adams, Freedom, La Salle, Ophir, Manlius and Utica. Information and applications are available at lasallecounty.org.
“To understand how the county may change in the future requires recognizing past trends and looking at the present physical, social and natural environments, and considering how local values as well as external forces may influence different future development scenarios,” said County Board President Jerry Hicks.
“The physical environment in La Salle County is undergoing constant change even if that change is slow and not obvious,” Hicks added. “The socioeconomic state of the county is also dynamic. Population, income and employment, and particularly the spatial distribution of these attributes, all play a role in the development of the county.”
