A rural Streator man faces several charges from the weekend, including home invasion.
Kenneth J. Murphy, 41, Manville, is charged with aggravated battery to police, resisting police, domestic battery and home invasion. The charges stem from incidents Saturday night and early Sunday morning at a home in Blackstone, which is a few miles southeast of Streator, according to Livingston County Sheriff Tony Childress.
Murphy was arrested at about 8:06 p.m. Saturday at the home on a disorderly conduct charge. He was taken to the Livingston County Jail in Pontiac, bonding out around midnight. Two hours after Murphy left jail, sheriff’s deputes and Streator police were called to the Blackstone home, where Murphy was found inside the home, Childress reported.
Murphy was returned to the county jail, where he remained Monday.
Murphy was charged in April 2017 with domestic battery, violating a protection order and resisting police; he was set to go to trial Monday on these charges.
