ROUND LAKE BEACH – State Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is encouraging local students to participate in his new “Celebrate Illinois” Art Contest in honor of the state’s bicentennial.
The contest is open to all K-12 students in the 62nd District and will be divided between two age groups: K-6 and 7-12. The theme is “Celebrate Illinois!”
The artwork may use any variety of mediums but is limited to two-dimensional pieces and must be an original work signed by the artist and the subject must be related to Illinois.
The deadline to submit artwork is March 5.
Submissions must include the student’s full name, phone number, and school name and address. They may be delivered or mailed to Yingling’s District Office at 1919 IL Route 83, Suite 1, in Round Lake Beach.
The first-place artwork for each age group will be rotated on display in Yingling’s Springfield office and his Round Lake Beach office. Winners will be announced March 26.
For information or questions, call Yingling’s local office at 847-231-6262 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
